Hey, sister! Welcome back to a Taylored Adventure to Happiness. If you are new, welcome! If you are a regular, I love ya, I love ya, I love ya!
Have you ever felt like you were holding yourself back? Maybe you didn’t try out for the soccer team as a little girl because you were scared you wouldn’t be fast enough. Or maybe you didn’t attempt to increase your pricing for your business, even though you knew for a fact that your service was worth more than you were charging.
Was there a relationship you were hesitant to start because you doubted your worth? Or maybe you didn’t go to that reunion with your friends because you felt like you didn’t have anything interesting in your life to talk about.
Sister, these examples have one important thing in common — fear. Fear holds us back. It prevents us from ascending into the abundant life that we can create for ourselves. It stops us from owning our truth as Lightworkers.
I’m just gonna say it right now — this fear needs to get the fuck out of our lives. That’s right. It needs to leave so we can be #AbundantAF, dissolve our limiting beliefs that have been holding us back for too long, and be empowered to take action in our lives.
That’s why today, we are diving into fearlessness. If you’ve been needing a fire lit under you to shine your light and live an epic fucking life, this episode is meant for you.
Get out your journal and a pen, because I am going to ask you some tough questions that will help you reflect on the areas in your life that are full of fear. Sister, once you are aware of them, you can heal them and be empowered to live abundantly!
I can’t wait to give you a dose of fire today that I know will help you to rise and thrive. Are you ready? Put your seatbelt on, sister, and let’s dive in!
How Breaking Free from Comparisonitis Can Change Your Life
The first fear-filled monster that we need to get rid of is comparisonitis, the habit of constantly comparing ourselves to those around us. Sister, have you ever caught yourself scrolling through Instagram wishing that you had another person’s life? Do you compare their feed to yours, and you instantly feel worse about yourself? We’ve all done it. You catch yourself thinking, “Wow their feed is so curated. It’s perfect.” Their bright colored photos with pristine white backdrops make it seem like they really have their life together, tied with a ribbon and a witty caption.
This is comparisonitis, the epidemic of social media that threatens to affect us all and keep us from living our own best lives. It’s amazing how easy it is to fall prey to this way of thinking, focusing on everyone around you instead of yourself.
But this kind of thinking only holds you back. It serves as a bandaid, covering the real work you must do to put the mirror up and ask yourself, “Who am I not being that I want to be?”
So sister, today I want to ask you, how are you hiding? How are you not showing up as the person you know you are meant to be? How are you allowing fear of failure and judgment keep you back from creating the life you want?
I want to inspire you today to recognize when comparisonitis creeps into your life. And when it does, tell it to get the hell out. Instead of focusing on someone else’s Instagram feed, focus on yourself. Focus on the things that you need to be doing to live abundantly and free from fear of failure or judgment. Don’t try to be someone else — be yourself. Trust me, it’s a much better way to live.
If comparisonitis is an ugly monster, then our ego is its equally dangerous cousin. We often let our ego run the fucking ship and prevent us from being our true selves, and that’s the second area of fear that we need to purge from our lives.
Why We Need to Check Our Ego at the Door
Sister, I am going to share something with you that held me back for so long. I used to think that I was “too much.” I was terrified that I was going to be perceived as “too loud” or told that I was “too outspoken.”
I remember this mindset started when I was in middle school. There was a girl at my school who was loud and outspoken, and she always shared what was on her mind. Guess how she was perceived? That’s right — a “total bitch.” People were scared of her and unsure of how to approach her, but I was jealous. I was envious of the way she fearlessly spoke her truth when I hid from mine out of fear of being called names.
So I stayed small. I fell into victim mode, and this held me back for so fucking long. You can hear more of how I freed myself from that here in Episode 218, “Changing the Narrative on Being A Bitch” It’s a juicy one.
Sister, I let my ego keep me small. I let the fear of what other people thought of me run the day, and that held me back from stepping into my power. So I have a question for you. How are you allowing your ego to hold you back and keep you small?
Are you hiding the goofy, silly parts of yourself? Are you keeping that unique, quirky personality locked in a box because you are afraid people might think you are weird or won’t take you seriously?
Or maybe your ego is getting in the way of financial abundance. How are you allowing your ego to keep you from investing in yourself and becoming a money magnet? Are you afraid of not having enough money or failing at what you invest in?
I’m here to tell you this: You have to check your ego and break free of that fear mentality. You have so much abundance waiting for you! You have money that is begging to come into your life and support you. You have people that are ready to lift you up and help you do the things that you want to do. But if you’re hiding and letting your ego and fear run the ship, the beautiful things can’t enter your life.
Sister, think of the ways you are letting your ego dictate how you live. And then, tell it to get lost because you are meant to live a life that is free of fear! You are meant to step into your true self, and own that identity because it’s who you are meant to be!
It’s Time for You to Rise
If you have been sitting in fear too long, I hope you feel a fucking fire in your soul right now to break free and live fearlessly. Because I’m here to tell you that it’s time for you to rise. It’s time for you to step into who you are meant to be and ascend.
Sister, you can dream bigger and be bigger. You are not too much. Have you been believing the things that people say to you that don’t feel good or make you feel small? Have you been making them your truth? I did for so long, and it held me back from true abundance. My ego was making me miserable.
It’s time to break free of that fear! It’s time to rise above the fear of judgment from others.
Remember, when someone judges you, they are simply judging themselves. Their judgment reflects more about them than it does about you! Don’t take it personally, and know that there are so many women out there who will be inspired by your example!
Think about these questions today: How are you hiding? How are you avoiding doing the work? You have a powerful gift — share it! Fearlessly own it. Unapologetically live a fucking fearless life. You have so much abundance waiting for you. So what do you need to do to fully access that?
Sister, It’s time for you to step up. We need you. I need you. You need you. The rising consciousness needs your light. Your community needs you. The world needs you. It’s time for you to stop hiding and shine. I love you, and I am always here to support you.
